McPhee's style

John McPhee is a long-time writer for The New Yorker. His style is crisp and functional and has a serious method behind it. Here are a series of posts about his writing style that may give you some ideas as well.

By the way, for Mac computer fans, this forum belongs to a new writing tool called Scrivener that uses screen-based index cards to help writers organize and edit their work. I'm still exploring it, and it looks downright exciting.
